Seventeen and Pregnant

Novalee is pregnant and she is a teen mother to be. She finds herself stranded in Wal-Mart because her boyrfriend Willy Jack Pickens has left her with no money in her pockets. She has bad luck with sevens.She is scared for her life and doesn't know what to expect having a baby when she is a child herself,. I can relate to this through expeirnce because I am teen mother. I am scared and nervous at times because I don't know much on taking care of a kid because I'm a kid myself. What confuses me in this book is that why would he leave her just like that a store why not just tell her he doesn't want to be part of anything in her life nor the baby's? "but sometimes, she thought, you just can't see a thing coming at you"  That was a quote from the book and it's true sometimes you just got to go with the curve balls that life throws at you, i think atleast. Hopefully later on the book my questions will be answered.
